(Luke 22: 14-20)  The Lord's Supper is not only a sign of the love, but it is also a sacrament of our redemption by Christ's death. So the bread that is broken is a partaking of Christ's body; and likewise the cup of blessing is a partaking of Christ's blood.

Lunch Bunch:

Tuesday May 13, 11:30-1:00.  Speaker will be Kaylee Siebrecht, speaking on housing and placement opportunities for senior citizens.  Call 232-2750 to register.

Retreat:

Sunday, May 18, 2:00-6:00, at Soul of the Prairie with Mary Dreier.  Cost $10, due on registration.  Call 232-2750 to register.  Come and enjoy the community of Christian love in this beautiful setting.

Faith and Reason:

Currently this class is studying the Death Penalty, with lively discussion every Sunday morning, 9:30 in Room 108; bring your coffee! 

Divorce Support Group:

June 9-30, Monday evenings, 6:30-8:30,meeting in the fireside/parlor.  Deadline for registration is June 2.  Call 232-2750 to register.  Cost: $40, due upon registration.  Book: Rebuilding by Bruce Fisher, available for reduced cost on first night.  Facilitated by Dr. Ann Kennedy, PhD., and Deanna Pullen, Director of Pastoral Care.  Childcare is available.  For persons separated or divorced.

ADULT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
 

FAITH AND REASON in Room 108 – (off fellowship hall back by the kitchen).  This is a 20-minute videotape of noted theologians and thinkers who talk about controversial issues.  Good discussion among class members always follows.  If you miss a session, come anyway!  No sign-up required. Sunday mornings at 9:30.

 


 

Adult Forum:

Sunday, May 18, 2008, Kim Venteicher will be here from the Stork’s Nest, a service group that offers incentives for pregnant women, making healthy choices. 9:30, fireside/parlor –
coffee and donuts are served in the parlor.

 Sunday, June 22, 2008, Kathy McCarty will be here, talking about her service as a nurse missionary from Zimbabwe, working with
persons with HIV/AIDS.  This will be in the sanctuary at 10:30, following the 9:30 service. 
The United Church of Christ will be joining us for worship that morning, and staying for the presentation.  A potluck salad luncheon
will follow in Fellowship Hall.
